Gary appears to be a bit nerdy. Though it does not have to mean that he is a fan of computer games, fantasy books or chess, but he has that air about him. His T-Shirt with a Ninja could mean he is interested in martial arts (or just Ninjas). Wearing rather plain clothes, he might act like the timid one, when compared to Joel, but on the other hand, as seen on the trailer, he and Joel are going along well. At the very least, they know how to dance to a Boombox.
Joel looks like a metal fan. His t-shirt with an angry skull is either a fashion statement, or the symbol of one of his favourite bands. Though I am used to the thought that most metal listeners are metal-heads, Joel does not exactly fit the stereotype. How did he become friends with Gary seems to be a mystery, on the other hand they could be long-going friends, back from primary school, and even though their tastes and style changed, their friendship did not.
Megan dresses in a very timid fashion. Knowing life though, she has some deep enthusiasm for something. Seeing how on the Unsupervised page she has a scorpion next to her name, perhaps she has a thing for these adorable critters? Darius is big, in every sense of the word. He has the look of somebody who knows everything, and at the same time, knows best. Wearing a purple (or is that violet?) polo, he might not look like much, but I have a feeling he is a fan of sports. Christina is the one person, out of the mentioned characters, who looks like a big-shot in Maynord High School. The type of girl who has plenty of followers, and a solid grasp on all the events in Maynord. That does not have to make her the main antagonist, but I am certain she will pop-up a lot. What of the High School's principal? Miss Stark looks like the type of person who thinks in an old-fashioned manner. The sort of principal who uses slightly out-dated methods to cope with the behaviour of today's youth, with a mixed set of results. On the other, she might as well only make up appearances, and although trying to help the students of Maynord, not having much success at it.
The Mules appear to be the High School's team. I have a problem telling whether it's Football, or Baseball. The only suggestion I have that it is baseball is one poster on the school board. At the same time, it seems the entire school is not too enthusiastic about the team's abilities. Rockland might be an opponent of Maynord. At the same time though, it might as well be a rock band, of some sort. If I were to wager a guess though, I would be looking at the long-term rival, type of deal.
We were all in high school (or are, or will be), so let us ask ourselves, what could come next? If Gary and Jules care about how others see them, then the first episode is proof of that. In most stereotypical schools, being a sportsman also gives you prestige, so I would guess that at some point Gary and Jules get mixed up in the Mules, one way, or another. Let us not forget the holidays and other special events, which would mark some sort of extra-ordinary planning (or at least, bonus episodes). Somewhere along the end of the line, there would be school dances, some sort of musical play-offs (who knows?), class year photos... the list of events which marked our own school lives goes on... There will be other things, I am certain, drugs and their use having to pop-up at some point. Bullying might also come up, in one form or another. Who knows what will the writers come up with?
